Shropshire Council's marriage packages for 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2028 include a basic statutory 2+2 at the registrar's office on a Wednesday, at £87 including two certificates. The registration point in Shrewsbury is The Guildhall, Frankwell Quay, SY3 8HQ. A traditional ceremony at Castle View or in the Ceremony Room at the Guildhall is £500 including two certificates, with £250 of that balance due within three months of the ceremony after the deposit. A Wednesday statutory signing and a ceremony-room booking are not the same length of appointment.
One or two hours often covers the 2+2 and a few pictures outside. A traditional ceremony needs the hours you want, especially if you have added the enhanced option. The extra £200 for an enhanced ceremony, and the extra £400 for an enhanced bespoke ceremony, are due 12 months prior. That extra is content in the ceremony, not a longer portrait hour, unless you ask for one. Say which package you have booked. The council says the prices can change under the terms, so the room on your confirmation is the one to send.

A traditional ceremony at an approved venue is £650, with £400 as the balance on the same three-month rule. Name Castle View or the other venue, the start time, and whether you are also at the Guildhall. Lanes into Frankwell Quay on a Wednesday morning are slow, so put a gap in the arrival time. If the meal is a second stop, ask for that travel in the quote.

No. The extra £200, and the extra £400 for enhanced bespoke, are due 12 months prior and add content to the ceremony. Portrait time is whatever you ask the photographer to cover. Say that separately from the council package.

The second address, the time you leave, and a gap if you are arriving at the Guildhall on a Wednesday morning, when the lanes are slow. An approved venue at £650 is already a different building from the registrar's office. Ask for the drive to be included or quoted on its own.
