The October 2026 survey gives priced differences for coverage length and for a short list of add-ons. It does not give a percent off for a weekday, a winter month, or a particular venue.
Book the hours you will use
The full-day digital-only median is £1,500 (n=2,057; middle half £1,195 to £1,900). A half day of 4 to 5 stated hours is £850 (n=836; middle half £650 to £1,100). Those two medians differ by £650. An extra hour, where a photographer prices it as an add-on, has a median of £175 (n=681). How many hours you need is the page for choosing a band. Surveyed 4 October 2026.
Decide on the album before you compare
An album add-on has a median of £350 (n=734). A second photographer is £370 (n=776). An engagement shoot is £275 (n=764). 69.9% of headline packages do not say whether an album is included (n=1,438 of 2,057). Ask, then compare like with like. The definitions sit on the methodology page and on what a budget package includes.
Read the regional median before you shortlist
The North West full-day median is £1,350 (n=206; middle half £1,000 to £1,800). The North East is £1,395 (n=55; middle half £995 to £1,625). The West Midlands is £1,400 (n=192; middle half £1,100 to £1,795). London is £1,700 (n=183; middle half £1,300 to £2,100). A quote is easier to judge against the area it is for. Crewe is one town page with its own median, and the national table is the cost guide.
