It hosts up to 36 guests with the couple standing, and it looks over the quadrangle to the south. A guest lounge looks north toward Princes Street. The European Suite is on the first floor, by stair or lift, and hosts up to 70 guests with the couple standing. The Royal Mile and the closes

Royal Mile is the main thoroughfare of the Old Town. The name itself is early 20th century. You step onto it from the Chambers. In August the pavement is the festival. On a weekday outside that month you get more of the street in the frame. Close wynds are the quieter alternative a few steps off the mile.

Castle rock and the esplanade

The castle stands on rock occupied since at least the Iron Age. A royal castle has been there since Malcolm III in the 11th century, a royal residence until 1633, and after that principally a garrison. Ask the castle before you treat the interior or the esplanade as a booked portrait. The view from below, on the mile, needs no ticket.

Calton Hill and the National Monument

Calton Hill sits beyond the east end of Princes Street and inside the city's UNESCO World Heritage Site. The council's Alexander Suite lounge already looks toward Princes Street. The hill is the wider viewpoint, a walk from the Chambers, windier than the street, and a normal stop in paintings of the city. Allow the climb inside the hours you booked.

June's earliest sunrise is on the 18th. The latest sunset in June is on the 24th. A summer dinner can still be in daylight. An October signing wants the hill portraits immediately afterwards.

A registrar booked through the Chambers is not automatically the registrar for a venue over the line. The quote should name Leith, the Old Town, Calton Hill or a venue beyond the boundary as separate lines.
