The register office for this valley is in Pontypridd
If you live in Rhondda Cynon Taf, legal notice is given at the Register Office, Municipal Buildings, Gelliwastad Road, Pontypridd. That building is not in Aberdare. The council says the office holds ceremonies from 9.30am to 3pm on weekdays and from 9am to 2pm on Saturdays. For 2026/27 the register office fee, for 10 guests, is £62. An approved venue is £505 from Monday to Saturday, or £601 on Sunday and bank holidays. A non-refundable booking fee is £36.
The approved-premises list names Pontypridd Golf Club, Rhondda Heritage Park Hotel, The Old Rectory and Gardens at Llanilid, Ty Newydd County Hotel, Lanelay Hall and Llantrisant Guildhall. None of those is a room in this valley town. The photographer needs the venue you have actually booked. A short register-office signing is often covered in one or two hours, ceremony plus a few pictures outside. Ten guests is still a small group. An approved venue with a meal needs the hours and the drive back.
Half an hour before the vows, then the valley afterwards
Guests at an approved premise are asked to arrive about 30 minutes early, because registrars may have another ceremony afterwards. That half hour is the time to give the photographer if you want pictures before the vows. Send the building, the start, and whether the meal is at the same place or back in the valley. A drive between Pontypridd and the valley should be in the quote.
If we are not at a hotel, where is the 10-guest ceremony?
Municipal Buildings, Gelliwastad Road, Pontypridd. Ceremonies there run from 9.30am to 3pm on weekdays and 9am to 2pm on Saturdays. The 2026/27 fee for 10 guests is £62. Say if you want the photographer for that slot only, or also for pictures outside, and name any second venue in the valley.

When should the photographer arrive at an approved venue?
About 30 minutes before the ceremony, with the guests, if you want the pictures before the vows. Registrars often have another booking afterwards, so a late start uses up that half hour. If coverage begins at the vow, say so, and those earlier pictures will not be in the job.
How many hours if the meal is back in the valley after Pontypridd?
Send both addresses and the gap. One or two hours often covers the register office and a few pictures outside. A meal at a second venue is extra time and a valley drive, and both should be written into the quote.
