Three different bookings at the Coaver Club
Devon County Council's register office for Exeter is the Coaver Club in the County Hall grounds, Topsham Road, EX2 4QX. Follow the signs rather than main reception. Visitor parking uses the Topsham Road entrance, and on Monday to Friday a Blue Badge holder can use an intercom for a space nearer the building. A two-witness ceremony, with no readings, music or personal vows, runs on Mondays except bank holidays and on Tuesdays, 9am to 5pm, in slots every 30 minutes, at £62. The fees page also summarises statutory ceremonies with a maximum of two guests at that same £62.
A larger room takes a maximum of 60 guests, including the two witnesses, at £625. Wednesday to Friday is 9am to 5pm, Saturday is 12pm to 5pm, and Sunday is 9am to 5pm, and the same fee covers bank holidays. A maximum of eight guests, including the witnesses, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturday mornings, is £225, and that ceremony cannot be personalised either. Readings, music and personal vows are not allowed on the £62 or the £225 booking.
Match the hours to the room you have paid for
A Monday £62 slot is a short legal appointment. One or two hours often covers that signing and a few pictures outside. A Saturday in the 60-guest room does not start until noon, while Sunday starts at 9am, so put the day and the start time in the enquiry. Lanes into Topsham Road fill up on a Saturday. If the meal is elsewhere, send that address and ask for the gap to be in the quote.
How many hours fit the £62 signing at the Coaver Club?
That ceremony is two witnesses, on Mondays except bank holidays and on Tuesdays, every 30 minutes from 9am to 5pm. Readings, music and personal vows are not part of it. One or two hours is often enough for the signing and a few pictures afterwards. Say if you want longer.
Who is inside the £625 room, and when does Saturday start?
A maximum of 60 guests, and that number includes the two witnesses. Wednesday to Friday is 9am to 5pm, Saturday is 12pm to 5pm, and Sunday is 9am to 5pm. Tell the photographer the day so they do not arrive for a morning that the larger room does not offer on Saturday.
Can the eight-guest ceremony include music or readings?
No. The council says those Monday, Tuesday and Saturday-morning ceremonies cannot be personalised. The maximum is eight guests, including the witnesses, at £225. The photographer still needs the start time and how long you want them there for pictures.
Where should they meet us at County Hall?
At the Coaver Club, not at main reception. The signs point the way, and visitor parking uses the Topsham Road entrance. Put that in the arrival note. If the meal is a second venue, add the address, because a Saturday drive along Topsham Road needs time in the quote.
