Merrymeade House, hire included
If you are marrying in Brentwood, the community venue to name is Merrymeade House. Essex County Council lists it among nine community venues. You contact the house to confirm the date, and the house holds it without taking a deposit of its own. The registrar booking then includes the hire and the registrar in one fee. Notice is given at the library on New Road, CM14 4BP, which is a different building. A photographer sent to New Road on the ceremony morning is at the wrong door.
From 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027 the fee is £270 Monday to Thursday, £370 on Friday, and £465 on Saturday morning. Two marriage certificates add £25. The fees include VAT. Saturday morning is on the table. A Saturday afternoon is not, so do not ask for afternoon pictures until the house has confirmed a later slot. Less than 56 days away, an administration charge of £150 is added. The following two years step the Monday to Thursday row to £280 and then £290. Send Merrymeade House, the start, and the hours the house has given you. If the meal is elsewhere, ask for the travel to be included.

Send the start and the hours the house has given you. Saturday morning is £465 in the year to 31 March 2027, including the room and the registrar. A Saturday afternoon is not on the table. Say the finish time if you want pictures after the ceremony as well as the vows.
What does the £270 Thursday fee cover?
The room and the registrar, Monday to Thursday, from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027. Friday is £370 and Saturday morning is £465. Two certificates add £25. That is the council's charge. The photographer's price is for the hours at the house. You contact the house first to hold the date, without a deposit to the venue.

The house is the same. An administration charge of £150 is added to the registrar booking. Tell the photographer the confirmed start and the hours. The quote for pictures should match the time you have the building.
