How to compare cheap wedding photographer quotes in Manchester
There is no surveyed weekday percentage. The council's own cheap slot is the standard Pankhurst Suite ceremony on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday at 9.10am or 9.50am: £74.50 plus a £50 booking fee the fee table calls non-refundable, for the couple and two witnesses. That is the dated saving.
Cut hours before you cut the gallery. Budget around £450 for a two-hour registry office package, and around £850 for a half day of four or five hours. Some short packages never state the hours, so ask.
Heron House in the morning and portraits in Castlefield afterwards stay in the centre. Victoria Baths on Hathersage Road is a second trip, so put it in the hours. A photographer building a gallery can publish near £1,200. If a second photographer is an extra, budget about £370. An album extra is about £350. The files are what the headline buys. About £175 an hour is a different figure from the package. Do not divide £1,500 by eight and call that the price. An extra hour on its own is about £175. An engagement shoot is about £275. Many UK headlines never mention an album, so ask.

Grand and historic wedding venues in Manchester
Manchester Town Hall, Albert Square
Couples book Manchester Town Hall because it faces Albert Square, M2 5DB, and the Great Hall is the room people picture for a city wedding. It is Grade I. The Great Hall takes a reception of 500, a theatre layout of 430 and a banquet of 300. The events site also lists the Banqueting Room at 200, Bees Landing at 220 and the Conference Hall at 190. Wedding packages start from £2,495, and the registrar fee sits on top. If you only want the ceremony, ask the hall what that costs. Show-rounds are expected from summer 2027. The wedding FAQ is the source for the price and the tour date. Albert Square is right outside, so you can take the photographs there as you come out.
The Monastery, Gorton
The Monastery at 89 Gorton Lane, M12 5WF, is the former friary couples choose for a big nave wedding. It is Grade II*, and the wedding page takes parties of up to 400. The 2026 brochure prices full-day hire, including VAT, at £7,950 on Friday, £8,350 on Saturday, £4,325 from Sunday to Wednesday and £5,445 on Thursday. The Great Nave seats 350 comfortably. A ceremony on its own starts from £2,500, and an evening reception from £3,850, both including VAT. The garden is beside the nave, so you can take the photographs in Gorton, and a ceremony with drinks can be enough.
Victoria Baths, Hathersage Road
Victoria Baths licence record records the Grade II* baths on Hathersage Road, M13 0FE, the tiled pools couples book when they want a ceremony that looks like nowhere else. The building opened in 1906 and closed as a swimming pool in 1993. The council licence lists Gala Pool at a maximum occupancy of 500, the Sports Hall at 400, the Females Pool at 280, the Turkish Baths Rest Room at 50 and the Pineapple Room at 75. Victoria Baths weddings is the venue's wedding page. Winter use is limited because the building has no general space heating, the Gala Pool floor is slanted, and drinks stay out of the pool for a standing event unless it is carpeted. Ask the baths what they charge for your date. The pools and the tiled rooms are all inside, so the photographer can cover the vows and the drinks without another address.
Science and Industry Museum, Castlefield
The Science and Industry Museum on Liverpool Road in Castlefield is the museum couples pick when they want the canal as well as a licensed room. It is licensed until 21 December 2028. Ask the museum how many guests the room takes and what it costs. The canal basin is beside the building, so you can walk straight out for the photographs.
Manchester Art Gallery, Mosley Street
Manchester Art Gallery, Mosley Street, M2 3JL, is the city gallery couples book for a ceremony among the pictures. It is licensed until 13 November 2029. Ask the gallery how many guests they take and what the room costs. Mosley Street is a short walk from Albert Square, so the same afternoon can include the galleries and a few minutes outside.
City-centre wedding venues in Manchester
The Midland, Peter Street
Couples choose The Midland, 16 Peter Street, M60 2DS, when they want a hotel wedding that can grow from a small party to a ballroom. It is licensed until 10 March 2028. The brochure covers a day for 20 guests through to a wedding for 400, with 312 bedrooms. The Trafford Suite takes a ceremony of 250, a breakfast of 160 and an evening of 200. Signature packages start from £160 a head, Intimate from £170 and Luxe from £215. Full-day hire of the Alexandra Suite, if you bring your own caterer, starts from £9,500. Peter Street holds the ceremony and the evening, so a half day is enough for the vows and the photographs inside the hotel.
Albert Hall, Peter Street
Albert Hall, 27 Peter Street, M2 5QR, is the old chapel couples book when they want a grand room without leaving the centre. It is Grade II and licensed for ceremonies. The council record gives the ground floor a maximum occupancy of 500 and the hall floors 850. The wedding page gives the Main Hall 288 on round tables, 324 on banquet tables, 450 theatre and 500 standing. With the mezzanine, theatre is 600 and standing is 800. Ask Albert Hall what they charge. It depends on how big the party is and the time of year. The balcony looks down into the room, so you can take the photographs during the ceremony and the drinks without leaving Peter Street.
King Street Townhouse, King Street
King Street Townhouse is the boutique hotel couples choose when the guest list is closer to 80 than 300. It is licensed, with 40 bedrooms. The wedding FAQ gives up to 80 guests in the daytime, including the ceremony and breakfast, and 100 in the evening. Catering is in-house. Ask the hotel for the package price. King Street is the pavement outside, so the photographs can happen as you come out of the ceremony.
Kimpton Clocktower, Oxford Street
The Kimpton Clocktower on Oxford Street is the old Refuge building, a hotel couples book when they want the ceremony and the bedrooms under one roof. It is licensed until 8 December 2029. Ask the hotel for the package price. The ceremony, the bedrooms and the photographs are all under the same roof.
Manchester Hall, Bridge Street
Manchester Hall, 36 Bridge Street, M3 3BT, is the hall couples book for a civil ceremony beside Spinningfields. The council record gives Goulburn Dining and John Rylands a maximum of 350 each, the Gallery, Museum and Garden Court 150, and several smaller rooms from 20 to 70. Ask Manchester Hall what the room costs. A few minutes on Bridge Street is plenty for the photographs after the vows.
People's History Museum, Spinningfields
People's History Museum on the Left Bank at Spinningfields, M3 3ER, is the museum couples book when they want a dry hire with the fees written down. It is licensed until 31 January 2029. The 2026 brochure sets them out. The Coal Store seats up to 50 and a ceremony there is £500 plus VAT. The Engine Hall seats up to 120, or 200 standing in the evening, and a ceremony there is £880 plus VAT. A full day is £3,300 plus VAT. A seated reception for up to 120 is £2,900 plus VAT. The Left Bank is the path outside, so you can take the photographs at the museum and step straight out onto the river.
Smaller and budget wedding venues in Manchester
Pankhurst Suite, Heron House
The Pankhurst Suite at Heron House, 47 Lloyd Street, M2 5LE, is the register office couples use when they want a published council fee. The register office page gives the large room a maximum of 70: the couple, two witnesses and up to 66 guests. Ask whether a camera is inside that 70. Confetti is not permitted in or outside Heron House. Provisional bookings run up to two years ahead. The same page mentions a non-refundable deposit of £40, while the fee table adds a £50 booking fee. Both figures are on the council site, so confirm which one your booking uses. The witness-only ceremony is £74.50 plus that booking fee. Lloyd Street is a good spot for the first photographs, and Castlefield is a walk away if you have booked the time.
Rain Bar, Great Bridgewater Street
Rain Bar, 80 Great Bridgewater Street, M1 5JG, is the canalside pub couples book for a licensed ceremony until 29 September 2027. Ask the pub what they charge. The bar and the street are the same stop, so the photographer can cover the vows and the drinks without moving on.
Hallé St Peter's, Ancoats
Hallé St Peter's, 40 Blossom Street, M4 6BF, is the Ancoats church couples book for a ceremony in a room full of daylight. It is licensed until 24 September 2029. Ask Hallé St Peter's what they charge for your date. The tall windows fill the old church with daylight, so you can take the formal photographs there in Ancoats and still be ready before drinks.

Best wedding photo locations in Manchester
Castlefield Basin and the canal viaducts
Castlefield is the conservation area bounded by the Irwell, Quay Street, Deansgate and Chester Road. It holds the Roman fort of Mamucium, the 1764 Bridgewater Canal, a canal warehouse from 1779, and the 1830 passenger railway terminus at Liverpool Road, with a railway warehouse from 1831. You come for the brick, the water and the viaducts. It is a walk from the centre, busier once the bars fill, and calmer earlier in the day.
Albert Square and the Town Hall steps
The Town Hall faces the square, and you do not need a ticket to photograph the outside. Line the stop up with the ceremony so you are not crossing the city twice.
Lloyd Street outside Heron House
The standard slot is short, and confetti is not allowed on the building. Take the first photographs on the street, then walk toward Castlefield while the light is still useful. Lloyd Street is a working street, so keep the group close together.
Manchester history and landmarks

That is why a wedding quote here is often a quote for more than one borough, and why travel needs a sentence of its own.
Castlefield is the Roman and industrial layer you can still stand in. Mamucium named the later city. The Bridgewater Canal is described as the world's first industrial canal. The Liverpool Road terminus is described as the world's first passenger railway station. The portrait is warehouses and water because the goods yards were here, not because a planner added a backdrop.
The Town Hall is the Victorian correction to that industrial picture: neo-Gothic, ceremonial, facing Albert Square one way and St Peter's Square the other. The Met Office North West climate note averages this city at 830 mm of rain a year. The Lake District in the same note exceeds 3,200 mm, and parts of Cheshire and the Eden valley sit under 800 mm. Spring is the driest season, with the wetter months in autumn and winter. The 830 mm figure describes the city in that regional account. It is not a forecast for your Saturday, and it is not a reason to skip a coat at the baths, where the building itself is unheated for a general hire.

The ceremony types splits the day into a standard ceremony, witnesses only, with no readings and no music, and an enhanced ceremony that can include music and readings. For bookings made from 6 April 2026 to 31 March 2027, the Pankhurst Suite fees page includes one certificate in the prices below. The balance is due three months before the ceremony. Inside three months, the full fee is paid at booking and is non-refundable. The total fee is non-refundable if you cancel within three months. From 6 April, moving the booking costs a £25 administration fee. Notice is £46.50 a person, or £63 if a Home Office referral applies.
